She has all the swing, elegance and finesse of the best contemporary jazz singers and pianists. But although she has been compared more than once to Blossom Dearie and Diana Krall, this Australian artist confesses that her greatest influences are Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Gene Harris and Shirley Horn. Born in Australia in 1987, she has released five albums to date and has toured Europe, the United States, Brazil, Japan and Korea. Her second LP, Close Your Eyes (2012), won that year’s ARIA, the Australian music industry’s award for best jazz album. Pop, bossa nova, the American songbook, blues and soul may be her main sources of inspiration, but her graceful vocal timbre and virtuoso piano playing tower above them all.
